An underlying power......

I created my palette today....randomly pulling out antique lace, silk velvet, beadwork and chenille tassels from  my piles of treasure.   I almost always use only antique fabric and trim. There is a quality to these pieces that is undeniable.... and besides, I love the energy....the imagined story that is embedded within each piece.

I am surprised at the colors that came together.  I thought she would be in golds...or blacks...or
even whites.  Never did I imagine her in reds, maroons and purple.
Perhaps she was a dancer from the Moulin Rouge...or maybe a Spanish Princess in the 1800s.
I am waiting patiently for her to whisper her story in my ear.

I have created a mosaic of irridescent glass, in shades of red and maroons, containing a slight flash of gold, on the underneath side of her gown.  I like that this flash of light and color is hidden, when she is seated.  It is her secret power.  It is from this hidden source that her thirst comes.  Her vampire thirst.

It's pretty awesome how our creations often magically direct us to follow their wants.

The mosiac is beautiful and I know she will be stunning!

I think vampires especially appreciate finer fabrics as their senses are so sensitive ... can't say I am surprised that she's leaning toward jeweled tones & the brilliantly rich mosaic secret. :)
