My shadow...wild mustard and popcorn trees!

We're usually in Hawaii at this time of year, but this year we are here in Northern California and spring is bursting forth all around me!

The hills are so green that it almost hurts my eyes....the wild mustard meadows are an expanse of bright bright yellow and all around are beautiful trees with the most delicate buds and flowers in pinks and whites.

Our children and I always called them popcorn trees because.....well, they reminded us of popcorn popping open.

Sunshine, my shadow and sparkles!

Finally! The sun came out and so did I! Glass, powders, silicone and big smiles.
My mushroom is almost all jeweled.

The next step will be to grout......I might try an edge first to see how it looks, but I have to wait for the weather to remain sunny so the grout can dry.

Here are pieces of wood that I've used the tempered glass effect on. What I love about these is that I've embedded Reiki Healing Symbols within the design so when anyone enters our cottage they pass through blessings of protection and love.

New Online class in how to Sculpt Hands!

I have just put together a new online class offered at That Creative Place.

I love sculpting hands! They can be so expressive. I've been sculpting hands for 40 years now, so I can't even imagine how many I have done! But having sculpted so many, I have been able to come up with a simple step by step plan that I've put together with photos so you can see exactly what my directions mean.
My style is more whimsical than realistic. I don't necessarily mean to copy life and the human form, but more to express a feeling or gesture in a fantastical way.
I invite to you to click on over to That Creative Place and take a look.

I've set this class up so that you can download the lesson plan and create on your own schedule.
I am always available to answer questions and there is a forum where you can post photos of your work, if you want to share.

Hope to see you there!
