Touches of Blue.....

I added the black coral fan by gluing it to a piece of brown suede and attaching that to her torso. It lies over the opening of the blessing bowl and under the coral I have placed a layer of the same antique black netting dotted with irridescent blue sequin that I had used to cover the gourd. My intention with this is that one would place one's wishes, visions and dreams, written on a piece of paper, into the blessing bowl by lifting the netting and coral.
Dreams safely held in the belly of the bowl until they come true.....

I love everything about this piece. The tilt of her head, her hand gesture and most of all her skirt covering the blessing bowl and ones hopes and dreams.
